Asking and hoping for your support! https://gofund.me/b5730b6f

This fundraiser has been created to raise much needed funds for my amazing sister Louise O Reilly from Crosserlough in Co Cavan.

Louise, An Incredible daughter, sister, and mother to Lucas who is just 9 years old. She strived in her career as a talented hairdresser for over 17years.

Summer 2021 our lives changed forever when we received the devastating news that she just 39 years of age was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Louise has been faced with a lot of challenges since been diagnosed and unfortunately with this cruel disease no one knows what challenges are ahead. The disease takes hold and has taken over her body, it's our reality now - There is no cure. A reality we cannot hide or escape from but one we must meet head on by being brave together as a family. Our hope for a cure one day will always keep us going. But for now, trying to slow down the progression of MND is our priority.

Louise's love for her 9 year old son Lucas, and her deep desire to see him grow up, have been her driving forces throughout this journey.

Motor Neuron Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological condition in which the nerves that control voluntary muscles stop working. It is a very challenging condition that attacks the motor neurons or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching the muscles which leads to weakness and wasting. MND is a progressive and debilitating disease for which there is no cure. This disease can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Currently there is 420 people living with this cruel disease in Ireland.

Now it's our turn to rally behind Louise. Any funds raised are first and foremost about keeping Louise at home with her son, providing care plans she needs, treatment, house refurbishments, and transport to medical appointments.

Louise has given so much to others and now she needs our support. Her fighting spirit and unwavering positivity have been her greatest strengths.

Aside from our own needs, Louise is determined to help in the wider fight against MND to help others and shine a light of hope on families going through the same challenges.

Your generosity and support mean the world to Louise and her Family.

Thank you for reading her story.

We will keep fighting for our Lou!

Regards,

Tracey & The Finnegan Family x
